Scibor 28mm / 30mm Wild Warrior Dwarf #3 i.e. a Dwarf Troll Slayer!

Here's the Scibor Troll slayer . . . sorry Wild Warrior I finished off yesterday.

Kris wanted an Albino, washed out look, so the majority of this figure is ink washes over a white undercoat. I was skeptical at first but thanks to the ginger hair I think there is just enough spot colours there to make it pop.

Really like the GW Pallid Wych flesh I bought especially for my Muties and feel it worked a treat for this fella.

Once again the face is beautifully sculpted and a pleasure to paint! 

Texted my brother to let him know it was finished and he emailed me this as an 'inspiration'

As you can imagine my reply was short and sweet!

This is now the tenth Scibor miniature I have painted and I have 6 more on the go, one observation I have made is the sculpter(s) can be a bit lazy with their finishing and beautifully sculpted bits of fur etc will suddenly come to an abrupt 'solid' end, which is a real shame.

Scibor 28mm / 30mm Barbarian # 4. A strong start to the half term painting pile.

So here's the first couple of chips from the Half term painting pile.

First up is a Scibor miniature simply know as Barbarian # 4.

A very simple name for a very lovely sculpt!

The majority of the figure is 'Army painter, Barbarian flesh' primer which did all the hard work for me.

It seems to be a trade mark of Scibor that their miniature's faces are so full of character and manage to suggest a whole back story or scene by their expressions alone.

This is definitely one of the reasons why I am growing into a bit of a fanboy!

The second miniature is also a Scibor effort simply called 'Barbarian # 2'

Nice and simple this one as my brother just wants him as a piece of scatter terrain.

Once again 'Army painter wolf grey' does the donkey work and then a wash of 'Agax Earthshade' followed by some dry brushing.

Job done!

With a bit of luck I might get another couple of this lot finished off today.

I especially want to finish these three off.

4Ground 28mm Ruined house Type 1.

It was the good ladies turn to lie in this morning so when the little un come stomping up the stairs it was my job to usher her downstairs with promises of 'Dora the Explorer' and rice pops!

While little bird was looking out for 'swiper' and stuffing her face with cereal of questionable nutritional value I cracked open a little something I had bought at the Dark Sphere sale and some super glue.

Less then an hour later I ended up with this. . . . . . 

Awakening of the woods part 5. End game!

Rags was bustled into Custoras' tent as soon as he returned to the camp!

Custoras stood at the campaign table with the pitiful maps of the area spread before him. The maps were useless as the forests seemed  to move of their own accord!

Every scouting party he had sent out to reconnaissance the area has failed to return and Custoras had been forced to hang several 'Red Caps' after their refusal to leave the camp.

Finally a Lizardman had appeared at the edge of the camp fires and simply stood there pointing at Rags until he had obeyed the summons!

At dawn Custoras had heard the sentry challenges and light had streamed into his tent as the flap had been pulled aside to admit the Wizard. Rags was visably shaken by the experience and had reverted to his unhinged mannerisms and babblings, simular to when they had found him in the Lustrian forests years ago.

"Xhua-Ekko their 'Gods will' has decreeded that they will not attack the naked primates in the forthcoming battle. Their Gods wrote of this battle aeons ago. They declaired the blood of the apes would not be shed by the Cold Ones."

"And how do we know we can trust them?" Custoras demanded!

Their Gods have decreed it!" Rags stated with a finality that stifled all argument.

As the sun rose on the clearing, the Lizards had wheeled away towards the hordes of Goblins and their possible mutual destruction without even a sideways glance towards the Imperial forces.

Rags had glanced up at Custoras and shrugged "Their Gods have decreed it." he stated simply.

"And what had 'their Gods' decreed for those?" Custoras enquired, pointing towards the Elves just clearing the forest.

"Death my Lord! Ours or theirs, they did not say. Xhua-Ekko had simply uttered one word . . . . DEATH!"

Shortshank redemption pt 5. Rescue.

Spook tried to focus on the bulls eye on the dartboard at the other side of the inn but he had to admit the copious amounts of grog he had downed coupled with the roaring of the crowd, betting against him made it difficult. He released the arrow straight and true and within the blink of an eye had strung the second arrow.

Then disaster! The force of the first arrow knocked the board from it's perch and tumbling to the ground behind a table. Crashart walked up to the board and roared along with the rest of the crowd as he pointed at the board on the ground.

Within a heart beat Spook adjusted his aim and ricocheted his second arrow off a shield hanging off a wall peg and towards Crasharts groin!

A loud clang rung through the bar as the arrow bounced off Crashart's cod piece and buried itself into the obscured dartboard. A loud groan resounded through the bar from the far crowd as Crashart fainted to the ground, confirming Spook had hit the bulls eye with the second arrow!

As Spook turned to collect his winnings Archie asked him "How did you know he was wearing his reinforced cod piece?"

Spook just winked "I didn't!" he replied!

Custoras looked across at the Dwarves arrayed on his flank. Despite the battles between them the armies had realised only a truce would delay their mutual destruction by the force of Goblins and Undead assemblying across the field.

Could their new allies be trusted?

Throwback Thursday. That's a thing right?

Only painted one miniature this week. It's a Knight on a horse but it only counts as one miniature so figured I would blog a blast from the past.

While digging out Orky Chop Chop I come across these 1980's Space lords miniatures which were funnily enough painted up by me in the 1980's when I was 15.

School Enrichment. Session 5. The Lords of Mordheim!

The last enrichment session of the half term saw the students play a 'seven samurai' style senario with both bands meeting in the middle of the board to discuss a truce so they could team up to protect a village from 'Big Ben' and his crew.

Little did they know that 'Big Ben' was a giant accompanied by some Ogres and Crocs!

I told them that the last surviving member would be crowned the 'Lord of Mordheim' and earn 500 gold coins. I figured this would cause the pupils to set on each other like a pack of wild dogs but . . . . . . .
