Positive signs for the future. Blitz bowl and Space Marine Adventures

I was really pleased to read this week that GW are returning to producing kid appropriate, entry level board games.

Even with the great nods GW are giving to their past (as well as realizing how profitable it is!!) it seems they have re-realized how important the 'game in a box' products are in getting fresh blood into the hobby.

My introduction to GW was via 'Dark Future' (1988). The game itself was shit but the important thing was my best mate and I could walk into a GW, put down a tenner each and we were 'in' the hobby.

With Lano and Phil away kicking arse at a Warmachine comp Lee and I decided to be Gentlemen and play WHF 8th instead ;0)

Once again we met up at 'The Ilford wargaming group' and set the table with our forces for Riotville LIVE!

Armageddon day. Part two.

 
With me singing shit 80's rock to myself  and with pizza freshly cooked and digested Shaggy was allowed out of the kitchen to play another game!

Game 4 would see my Orks ambushed by Shaggy's Chaos Marines.

Creative Biscuit. South Woodford wargaming with Scythe . . . and expansion packs!

 This Friday at the Creative Biscuit four of us met up to play Scythe.

This time Tim had gone out and bought himself the extra factions and Airships expansion sets.

Things were about to get a LOT more complicated!

Armageddon day! Part one.

 This Thursday I got over to Shaggy's bright and early so we could rip into each other apart via the medium of 'Shadow Wars'.

Game 1 would see us set the field for a meat and potatoes 'Kill team fight' . . . and what a table!

Not bad considering none of this stuff existed 6 weeks ago.

Tomorrow I'm Ar going to Gedd it On!!!!

Used the half term to crank out some last bits of terrain for Shaow Wars Armageddon tomorrow at Shaggy's.

First up is Observation post 21.

WHF 1800pts. My 'Heralds of Change' take to the field.

Last Sunday Lee and I threw down with our armies for RiotvilleLIVE! 2018.

I have basically gone with the contents of a 'Slaves to Darkness starter set' while Lee has gone with a really nicely assembled 'combined arms' force of the Empire.

Countdown to Armageddon . . . . .

So this Thursday is Sheduled for Armageddon!!

With that in mind I decided to finish up my bases for my Ork Warband ah well as assemble together the bits I have painted terrain wise.

Best laid plans of mice and men . . . . and all that!

So I have had to take a long hard look at the Beastmen army and admit to myself I am NEVER going to get it finished in time for Riotville LIVE! 2018.

There is just too many details and variety of tones to get done in 30 days!

With that in mind I visited Dark sphere today and bought this lot. . . . .

30 days and the clock is running!!
