White Dwarf - Have you lost weight?

During the summer I picked up a load of old White Dwarfs for 50p each at a hobby shop in Clacton on Sea.

I also acquired a recent issue of White Dwarf (which thankfully I did not have to pay for).

I know it's now a weekly, but seriously, I flicked through several times  but it reminds me of a lot of the women I dated in my 20's; slim and pretty but not much going on upstairs.

One good thing about having the builders in (actually the only thing at the moment as they are really dragging their feet), is I finally had a chance to get all my unassembled / unpainted miniatures together in a pile................. and its quite a pile!

No its not a prize draw........ its just all the crap I need to get painted!

Warmachine to the rescue

So the other night I'm putting my son to bed and reach for the story books when he pipes up with the words every father dreads at bed time "No Daddy, I want a made up story...................a long one!"

I wrack my brains and then eureka .....................

Troy the Cygnar Warcaster is off to fight Skare the witch queen with his two giant robots (named after his two best mates).

There were villages in peril, there was an ambush, there was explosions and feats ("of course you can have a magic glowing arm that sends the baddies flying through the air!"), and Skare ends up in prison (always leave room for a sequel).

We both agree "Cryx is for dicks" (my words not his!), a kiss good night, lights out and everyone is a winner.

The Battle of Rorkes....... sorry I mean Corpse Drift! Saga "The Lustrian chronicles"

So a while back Jesus George introduced us all to Gripping Beast's "Saga".

With the Armoury Gaming club being the Armoury Gaming club we soon bastardised it to fit in all the different armies we play and as always we soon located it in our favorite place to go, Lustria!

September painting shelf

This post is mostly out of habit as it looks like my painting is going to screech to a halt for a while.

Somehow I have managed to land a post teaching 15 year old autistic kids in a position which never really existed before.

Originally only only went in to have a look at a PE post.

Obviously with starting it all from scratch means many evenings in front of the computer researching schemes of learning rather than blogging and painting.
