I had two choices Tuesday . . . . Go into work one day early to get myself sorted for the new academic year OR play little soldiers?
Easy choice really!!!!
After the mauling of the Duke's previous warband he had spent the time on the run collecting all sorts of desperado's to implement his revenge.
Tell Earp the Duke was set to return to 'Mare Street' and Death was riding with him!

Last week Lee and I had a chance to meet up at Lano's to have a 2000 point throw down!
With the four generals of the Badlands scattered to the four winds during the summer break Lee and I decided to try out something new.
Our next campaign will see the four of us play a campaign in the desolation that was previously Solland.
Phil, Lee and I will be playing Imperial forces while Lano has opted for Vampires!
With this in mind Lee wanted to play test a new Imperial army list while I was desperate to get some practise in with my 'Hunter' list for the Badlands campaign.
Only one thing for it . . . . FIGHT . . . . . FIGHT . . . . . . . . FIGHT!

With the Summer hols in full swing my brother and I got a chance to meet up for a game of 'Legends of the Old West'.
We tried to fly through a full campaign. We failed but squeezed at least two games in.
Kicked off with two new posse's and the classic 'High Noon' scenario.

Despite it being the summer hols I have not been smashing through the lead mountain.
Usually I get the majority of my painting done during the six weeks hols but apart from building and painting 'Fozzriks Gatehouse' my painting mojo has been pretty low.
One thing I have got finished up is this brute of a Stonehorn which has absorbed far too much of my time with the brush.
Well at least that is two of my three generals finished for my Badlands armies.
For a change of palette, yesterday I decided to dig into the 'cupboard of doom' to find and finish the oldest piece of lead in there, in one sitting.
It turned out to be this lunp of lead below which is a 1990 Grenadier Miniatures, Barbarian.
Anyone else think he looks a bit too much like the Heroquest Barbarian?
So twenty seven years later it finally gets a coat of paint and finished!
I have destinct memories of buying it from the top floor of Hamleys in Regent Street when it used to have a modeling section!
So here he is my oldest (until recently) unpainted miniature next to my newest painted miniature.
Here is one final look at the Stonehorn and hopefully it will see some action before the end of the Badlands campaign.
Now the numbers
Miniatures painted / sold this year = 190
Miniatures bought 113

Blood in the Badlands. Game 12. Geheimnisnacht. Autumn scenario, the battle for Fozzrik's Gatehouse.
Despite his bravado Captain Guthook could not help but be amazed by the ethereal tower that had materialised before them with the rising of the sun.
Even the snorting Cygor the Slaughtermaster had bound to their cause stared at the sky in wonder! It's single eye surveying colours his brutish mind could not even begin to comprehend.
Guthook stared down the line of the Ogres and his Orc allies which had mustered for this battle and smiled. Within the massed ranks titans of legend towered above their temporary masters, their minds subjugated to their cause through scrolls of binding.
Guthook winked at his half brother 'Big Eric' as horns blared up and down the line signalling the advance. Soon the Gatehouse would be theirs and therefore they would be one step closer to getting their hands on that bloody flying fastness!

|By Sigmar!! It FLIES!!!!!!!|
Still giggly and silly from the wonders of BOYL 2017 and knowing Geheimnisnacht is due this weekend in the Badlands I wanted to create something a bit special for the game.
