Denzark's Hammer. Speed painting Ultramarines.


So I set myself the Half term challenge of painting 20 Space Marines in 7 days.......

Knocked out 17 in two hours!


Not bad for two hours!

How did this happen?

See below.




"Ah Sergeant, there you are".

"My word your looking spiffing!"

"You look different, have you done something with your hair?

"Thank you sir, We only had to wait 25 years for a coat of paint! Would you like to inspect the troops?"

"Of course, lead the way."



"Looking good fellas.... Ahem, shame your going to end up smeared all over the planet Eureka!"

"Sorry Sir, What did you say?"

"Oh....... Nothing................ Nothing. So how did you get painted up so fast?"




Yep TWO hours!



STEP ONE

Coat of Army Painter Black primer, followed by an over spray of Army painter Gun Metal Primer.

Total time 20 minutes



STEP TWO

Quick ink wash of GW Nuln Oil to bring out details in armour.

Total time 15 min.


STEP THREE

Quick dry brush with GW Iron breaker and then GW Mithril Silver

Total time 10 minutes


STEP THREE

First ink wash of Guilliman Blue over all the armour, be sure to not cover and bit you want to remain metal, leather, gold etc.

Total time 15 min.




STEP FOUR

Second ink wash of Guilliman Blue over all the armour.

Total time 15 min.




STEP FIVE

Third and final ink wash of Guilliman Blue over all the armour.

Total time 15 min.




STEP SIX

Detail work,

picking out eyes, studs, painting on helmet stripes, picking out purity seals etc.

Total time 50 min.




STEP SEVEN

Ultra Marine transfers for shoulder pads.

Total time 10 min.



"The truth is Sir, if Riot had not been distracted by Cygnar Long Gunners, Squad Vorolanus would have been finished as well!

It's his fault we are not all finished!
