Blood in the Badlands. The siege of Ekrund

Game four saw the 6 generals break into a loose alliance of two teams to play out the 'Siege of Ekrund'

Scenario one would see the Forces of Nurgle and Throgg clash over the Watch tower.



Shaggy and his Nurgle worshippers would start the game in control of the Watch tower. It was Throgg's job to evict them.


If I can wrest control of the Watch tower from Shaggy my remaining forces will be able on to join in the battle for Ekrund. If shaggy wins his remaining forces will march to the relief of Ekrund.


My forces surge forward.


The Trolls are given the job of conquering the tower while the Warriors of Khorne act as blockers to any relieving forces.


The Gore Chariots of Nurgle do enough to decimate my Khorne Warriors and ride to the rescue of the beleaguered warriors within the Tower.
 

Unfortunately very little is left of the Nurgle forces to relieve Ekrund


Ekrund stands ready for the battle ahead.



The second game of the Siege of Ekrund would see the forces of the Lizard men and Orc's clash underground.


This would be a 'battle for the pass' scenario if the Orcs won they would be able to collapse the foundations of Ekrund. If the Lizards won they would surge up to reinforce the castle.

I must say at this point that Mike 2.0 had done a wonderful job building the Dwarven pillars for this battle.


The orks are forced to endure a cannonade of magic missiles and flame attacks as they slog forward to get to grips with the Lizards.  


Eventually the Orcs are massacred but have done enough to stop the large force of Lizard men marching to the relief of Ekrund.


Above ground the siege begins with both generals calling across the table to the other generals for updates on the outcome of their battles.

It was real nail biting stuff.

It's looking like the Orc's are going to stage a enactment of the 'charge of the light brigade' . . . . .  


That is until the pre-game rolls see the Imperial guns destroyed and a portion of the Imperial forces die from starvation!


To make matters worse Al has employed sappers and three sections of the walls collapse!.

Suddenly the situation is looking real dire for the Forces of the Empire.


Seizing this opportunity the Orcs race towards the walls (or what's left of them).


The walls are breached in seconds and the Imperials desperately try to hold out for the Lizardmen to ride to the rescue.


As the Orc's surge through the castle Al urges Lee to redouble his efforts to stall out the Lizard men below ground!


Phil make an heroic last stand with his Fire Wizard but it is too little to turn the tide and the Forces of Orc's and Khorne are triumphant!!


It is the decision of the losing side who takes Ekrund for the winning team.

They choose Lee. . . . . . . .I suspect shenanigans 😮
