Blood in the Badlands. Weeks one to three. Opening engagements

So here are my belated series of battle reports from our ongoing Blood in the Badlands Campaign.

More after the cut

Season one saw the Generals of the Badlands lead their 1000 point reconnaissance forces beyond their borders to rapidly expand their territories.

This saw Warriors of Nurgle clash with the indigenous Orcs of Lee. As Lee would say "Get off my land"!!

Nothing subtle about this battle as both forces race forward . . . .

and smash!!

This would see the forces of Nurgle triumphant against the orcs.

On the second table my Warriors of Khorne were clashing with the Savage Orcs of Alister.

This battle also sees the two forces charge towards each other pell mell!

The outrider forces clash early . . . .

. . . . .but when the WoC clash with the orcs the number of attacks they generate more than compensates for the Orc's superior numbers!

The Warriors of Khorne are victorious.

Week two saw the appearance of strange portals throughout the Badlands through which the initial forces of the Lizardmen poured.

The Forces of Khorne marched forward to meet them.

The skull crushers of Khorne race forward eager to spill blood  . . . . and one sinks into the swamp!

The Lizard men follow the great plan of the old ones (we call him Lano) and bunker down while the Slann rains down comets upon the forces of Chaos.

The calm before the storm . . . . .

The forces of chaos can contain their blood lust no longer and surge forward. . . . . only to bounce off the Lizard men and be massacred by the ponderous Lizard men!

A dominant victory for the Lizard men and a real statement of intent by Mike 2.0.

On the second table the Forces of Nurgle had stumbled across an ancient temple occupied by Savage Orcs.

What was supposed to be a three way game quickly saw the two Orc players become best mates and join forces against the interlopers. . . . . . As Lee would say . . ."Get off my land"!!

The Savage orcs surge out of the temple to try to rout the Nurgle worshippers while they are so close to the table edge.

Lee's forces move up to offer 'emotional support'.

Al continues to do the heavy lifting.

Lee turns up it time to lend a hand at the end and finish off the forces of Nurgle and out manoeuvres Alister to ensure he has the greater number of forces around the objectives.

Lee . . . . Brutal and cunning or Cunning and brutal? You decide.
